100,000 mega solar panels on 100 hectares in Moniwa, Sendai, planned by Yokohama company



A plan to build a large-scale photovoltaic power plant (mega solar) in the forests of the Moniwa district of Taihaku Ward, Sendai City, has surfaced. The project is being planned by Smart Farm (Yokohama City), which is involved in renewable energy projects. According to the materials prepared by the company, 101,000 solar panels will be installed on about 100 hectares of privately owned forest in the Moniwa district, and the power generation capacity is expected to be 49,995 kilowatts. Construction is scheduled to start in 2024 at the earliest.
