On August 19th, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MILT) opened a special website in conjunction with the digitisation of "automobile inspection certificates" scheduled to start on January 4, 2023. The purpose is to explain the electronic vehicle certificate in an easy-to-understand manner using illustrations.
Due to digitisation, the A4 size inspection certificate will be replaced with an A6 size inspection certificate with a built-in IC tag. Validity period, user address, and owner information are written to the IC tag, and can be referenced from a PC connected to a generic card reader or a smartphone with built-in IC tag reading function.
